De JONG & Co. (pronounced Dee—Young)

A small-batch furniture and home goods company. All of De JONG & Co.'s pieces are designed and manufactured by Peter De Jong in downtown Los Angeles. Peter's historical pedigree and education is unrivaled. His imaginative vision and unique style bring De JONG & Co. products into a league of their own; from the comfort and ergonomics in their home goods to the awe-inspiring, handcrafted slabs. Peter’s contemporary design is admired around the world.

After graduating from the prestigious and experimental sculpture program in Richmond, Virginia at VCU, Peter began a studio furniture apprenticeship in Philadelphia. He has a fine woodworking lineage reaching back to Edward Barnsley, a leading figure of the British Arts & Crafts movement. Peter comes from a diverse background in sculpture, music, production fabrication, as well as high-end commercial and residential projects. His furniture designs have brought De JONG & Co. to leading design fairs such as ICFF and his products can be found in boutique design stores and discerning homes across the U.S. and the globe.

Peter’s thoroughness and commitment to detail can be seen by the fact that, unhappy with any other solutions on the market, he developed and produces his own natural finish recipes specifically tailored for De JONG & Co. solid wood furniture and home goods. All of the material is sustainably sourced, only using domestic FSC-Certified lumber, and Peter takes pride in his forward thinking, ethical workplace leading a small group of skilled craftsman and apprentices.

Ruth De Jong leads the interior design department at De JONG & Co. Ruth is a production designer who has worked beside directors such as David Lynch, Paul Thomas Anderson, Terrence Maleck, and Jordan Peele. She brings the same skill and creative eye to the occasional, discerning interior design projects for De JONG & Co.
